USB-to-Serial Cable gives the serial ports for

PCS USB TO RS232 allows RS232 serial devices
to talk to USB PCs. Based on USB UART IC for transferring serial data over USB,
1-serial-port USB adapter is housed in plastic enclosure. It adds a Window
Serial Com ports via laptop's USB connection and is compatible with new and
legacy RS-232 devices.
It provides internal 4096-byte transmit buffer FIFO,
4096-byte receive buffer FIFO, and supports RS232 data transfer rates to 460
Kbps.

High Speed Isolated USB-To-RS485 Converter
PCSUSB-830A is a universal high-speed hardware solution for enabling PCs to send
serial information long distances with newer USB PC's. for transferring
serial data over the Universal Serial Bus using Virtual COM Port or DLL
software. In a low-profile robust housing with locking nuts on the DB-9M
end for secure serial connections, PCSUSB-830A can be used to isolate remote
devices from a PC controller . No external power is needed since power is drawn
solely from the USB port. With automatic driver turnaround in half-duplex RS485
mode, PCSUSB-830A supports baud rates up to 1Mbaud. For half duplex or
multi-drop applications, a link may be selected to enable the RS485 transmit
buffer automatically, whenever data is waiting to be sent in the 4096 byte
transmit buffer.
USB drivers are provided for Windows '98/2000/xP
